Emilie and the Cool Kids - Mougins

If you have been to the French Riviera, then you probably know of Emilie and the Cool Kids.(previously Emilie's Cookies)
If by some strange happenstance you didn't walk by one or eat there, Emilie's is a restaurant franchise that makes cookies, cupcakes, vegan desserts, etc.
They serve brunch and bagels as well for you savoury/salé lovers.
All of their locations along the Côte d'Azur have a cool atmosphere and staff (probably why they had the name change - much more on-brand now👌)

Today Emilie's opened up their Mougins location and we decided to hop on over to treat the girls to some sweet goodies.

Where To Eat In Annecy France

My hubby and I recently went on a lovely couple's getaway to Annecy, France.
Nestled in the snowy mountains, this alpine town is where skiers go after a long day on the slopes.
And how do they warm up after hours in the snow?
FATTY FOODS.
Raclette, Tartiflette, Fondue... I am drooling just thinking about it.
My hubby and I didn't partake in any winter sports, but we definitely ate as if we did.

Here are the amazing places we ate at during our weekend in Annecy:

Marrakech Part Four: Berber Market, Our Riad, and Random Snapshots

I can't believe it has already been 3 months since our trip to Marrakech.
These are the last of the pictures that we took there.
Marrakech is a city constantly moving but somehow remains to feel calm and simple.
If you ever have the chance to visit, I really recommend it.

Look at this amazing place:

The Last Days of Nectarine Season

To me, nectarines are the best fruit.
Sweet, but still hints of tartness in the skin.
The skin is smooth, unlike a fuzzy peach.
Honestly just perfection.
But as September quickly passes by, nectarine season comes to an end.
My mother-in-law brought over this box of 24 nectarines when she visited us.
These recipes are how I indulged in the last of the nectarines.

Unicorn Cake for Beginner Bakers

I am an 'all or nothing' person.
So when it is birthday time, I want to make the most special cakes for my girls. (As seen here)
I don't want store bought cakes.
I also don't plop figurines onto a cake and call it good.
(If you do either of those things, cool! You do you. I personally just don't like it)
BUUUUT I know nothing about cake decoration or baking really.
I enjoy baking, but I am no expert or professional.
So I thought I would share how I make birthday cakes for others who want to do the same.
This was Ellie's birthday cake this week:
Is it perfect? No.
But is it exactly what she begged for for months prior to her birthday? YES!

#TBT: Ellie's Birthday

A look at some of Eloise's birthday cakes
(This is posted a day late so technically it is a Flashback Friday, but oh well)

This year Eloise has requested a unicorn cake for her fifth birthday.
Every year I forget how tiring it is to make a cute birthday cake from scratch. You know how people say after giving birth you get childbirth amnesia and forget the pain?
Well it is like that... but with baking.
